(9 x 86 cm) MATERIALS Yarn: Novelty—yarn shown is a 50 gram ball of paper eyelash yielding about 200 yards Needles: US 11 (8 mm) straight needles, or size to obtain gauge, Blunt tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Gauge: 20 st = 3.5 in. (9 cm) over garter stitch (knit every stitch in every row). Make sure your knitting is relaxed when you measure the gauge. This yarn knits up into a very elastic fabric that is easily distorted if stretched. Row gauge is not critical. Tips: It is easy to accidentally add or remove stitches with this yarn, but difficult to rip out your knitting. Periodically check to be sure you have the correct number of stitches. If you are off by one or two, stretch the work open gently to make sure you haven’t dropped any stitches that may run.
