Merrill's Of Maine
Merrill’s was an artisan’s hand establishment, where finished handcrafts were made and sold.
Pat Merrill Dunn, the founder, passed away on May 2, 2017, in Kennebunkport, Maine at the age of 96.
After she and her husband moved to Maine sometime after the Korean War, Pat began work for Moshimer’s Hooked Rug Studio. During this time she founded Merrill’s of Maine, a business that made and sold handcrafted garments, embroidery floss holders, needle displays and wooden knitting needles to knitting shops. Merrill’s of Maine provided an outlet for Pat’s outgoing nature, creative gifts and entrepreneurial spirit. The business ended up with hundreds of customers across the United States and Canada.
At DBNY we are still unpacking some of the treasures we discovered. Check our Merrill’s page often!
